To Lose an Angel

They come into our lives,

Well disguised.

Inconspicuous and brief are their lives.

They know much, they try to teach,

But mortals are too naïve.

They come with patience, love and tolerance.

They pity us too.

For we stumble around stupid and blind

Too arrogant to know

We are surrounded by Angels.

The few who are blessed

To recognize Angels

Are often laughed at and scorned

As hard as it is to ignore our fellow mortals

We hang on to our Angels with fervor

For we know all too well

It’s the curse that we bear

The cost is too great

We know what it’s like

To lose an Angel

"If there is a heaven, it's certain our animals are to be there.  Their lives become so interwoven with our own, it would take more than an archangel to disentangle them."
- Pam Brown b.1928

"If there are animals in your life
You are lucky enough to live among Angels"
-Jill Pearson

"If you love all things, you will also attain the divine mystery that is in all things. For then your ability to perceive the truth will grow every day, & your mind will open itself to an all-embracing love"
-Fyodor Dostoyevsky

To those of you who recognize Angels:
Know you are blessed and don't miss a moment.

To those of you who don't recognize Angels:
They are all around you
You just pass them by as subordinates.
